Jugal Mountain Range: north east from Kathmandu Valley. It is one of the shortest remotetrekking destinations at a distance of 145 kilometers from Kathmandu. There are a total of 14Peaks (majority of them are unclimbed) of above 6,000m in the Jugal Mountain Range.The trekking trail offers you a panoramic view of Phurbaghechyu 6,637m., JugalYangri Peak6,535 m, Gyalzen Peak 6,151 m, DorjeLakpa 6,966 m, GumbaChuli, Langpogang West 6,979m, Bhairav Takura 6,799 m, Jugal 1, Jugal 2, Jugal 3, Jugal 4 and Jugal 5 in Jugal Range. The trek takes you through lush green fields, dense forests, winding roads, water falls, alongsidethe running Balefi river of Sindhupalchok district. You will trek through quaint villagesuntouched by the modern world. Residents of these villages comprise of people from the Tamang, Sherpa, Newar, Gurung, Brahmin and Chettri communities.This trek offers you the experience of Nature, Culture and Adventure that best befits Nepal. Onecan also explore the caves in Ne-Pemachhal3,500m. where Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) isbelieved to have meditated in the 8th century by the Buddhists and the locals alike. Interestingly,you can use the same base camp as the gateway to reach 6 other Peaks of above 6,000 m

Schedule Details

Day 01:Kathmandu to Tembathang: (2200M)
  • Accommodation: Home stay
  • Drive: 6-7Distance: 119 KM

The day is the start of theadventure. After breakfast, wedepart towards Tembathang byfour-wheel jeep an off-roadexpressthroughDolaghatSunkoshi River. We will have alunch stop and then continue on awinding dirt road to Tembathang (2200m) Tembathang is a Sherpa Village with pureSherpa culture about 150 Houses, some stupas and Mani wall. It is a beautifulsettlement of Sherpa people. These people encourage trekkers to stay in their homeinstead of camping outside. They are very eager to showcase their unique culture andtradition. Animal husbandry, especially Yak raring is the main occupation these people.

Day 02: Trek to Chhendang (2636M)

  • Ascent: 400 M.
  • Descent: 100 M.
  • Time: 5-6 hours trekking
  • Distance: 8 KM

Chhendang is beautiful and wide place.There is an old Monastery. It is in adilapidated condition due to theEarthquake now the reconstruction ofthis monastery is going on. This area is of great religious significance. It is a vast andattractive region, making it a very beautiful place for camping.

Day-3: Trek to Ne-Pemachhal (3500M)

  • Descent: 90 M.
  • Time: 5 hours trekking
  • Distance: 8 KM

Steep-sided and well wooded, thebeautiful valley of Ne-Pemachhal is the location of a pilgrimage and meditation sitewhich celebrates the belief that the Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) visited the valleyin the 8th century. Heading up into the valley, with some sections of narrow and exposedtrail, we reach the rock overhang at TongsyupGufa, historically a place of meditation forBuddhist monks. Then, crossing a tributary stream, we complete a more level final kilometer of trekking to our camping place at Ne-Pemachhal (3500m).

Day-4: Trek to Jugal Viewpoint Gyapkharka (4400M)

  • Descent: 1100 M.Time: 6 hours trekking
  • Distance: 7 KM

Before continuing our approachto JugalHimal Base Camp, wetake the opportunity to visit agreat viewpoint at the placeknown as GyapKharka (4400m)on the north side of the Ne-Pemachhal Valley. We hike up directly and steeply, in part on a new stepped trail, to thesingle shelter at Bumpasherpu (4200m) and then traverse the valley slopes toGyapKharka (4400m) where the trail ends. From here we can look across to the locationof base camp and the ring of peaks that encircle the Jugal Glacier. PhurbaGhyechu(6637m) is the dominating mountain to the east. We return to spend a second night at Ne-Pemachhal.

Day-5: Trek to Palmothang(3900M)

  • Descent: 100 M.
  • Time: 3-4 hours trekking
  • Distance: 5 KM

The trekking time the mountains canbe seen everywhere and the journeyinside the Jungle and the river on the left side is very easy and pleasant route. This camp is very open and varied. Palmothang at the foothill of PhurbaghechyuMountain, as well as the steepening of the valley through which we must pass tomorrow.We set up our camp in a side-valley at Palmothang, have lunch and spend the afternoon atleisure.

Day 6: Trek to Basecamp Yangkharka (4700M

  • Ascent: 1000 M.
  • Descent: 200 M.
  • Time: 5-6 hours trekking
  • Distance: 4 KM

Today, the route is a bittechnical in some places, so weneed to walk carefully with ourstick. Base Camp (Yang Kharka)is a very beautiful and safe place between Phurbuchyachu and glaciers. We pass a smallglacial lake below PhurbaGhechyu and continue, traversing around, to Yang Kharka
(4700m), the spectacular basecamp area for the Jugal peaks. This is the gateway toPhurbaghechyu(6,637m), JugalYangri Peak (6,535m), Gyalzen Peak (6,151m), Jugal I(6591m)., Jugal II (6518m), Jugal III (6184m), Jugal IV (5936m). andJugal V (5922m).

Day 7: Rest day.

  • Walk around in basecamp and Jugal Glacier.
Day-8: Summit back to Basecamp

Juga Trekking Peak is an untouched, virgin trekking peak offering breathtaking views ofMount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and many other majestic Himalayas. Althoughconsidered an easy trekking peak, it still requires full climbing gear for a safe andsuccessful ascent.

Day-9:Trek to Ne-pemachhal
  • Accommodation:Camping
  • Ascent: 400 M.
  • Descent: 1900 M.
  • Time: 7-8 hours trekking
  • Distance: 9 KM

We have some time in the morning to enjoy the experience of being in the special place,very much a 'mountain sanctuary' and a place that few have visited. The views of theencircling peaks are sensational. Mid-morning we will begin our walk-out, making a slowand careful descent of the steep riverside trail and then continuing more easily viaPalmothang and through the atmospheric forest to Ne-Pemachhal (3500m) where wecamp.

Day 10: Trek to Chhendang (2600M)

  • Time: 4-5 hours trekking
  • Distance: 8 KM
Day-11: Trek to Tembathang (2200M)

  • Ascent: 200 M.
  • Descent: 970 M.

  • Distance: 8 KM

  • Drive: 5 Hours off road, 2 hours’ drive in peach road.
  • Distance: 119 KM

We have a short walk to the roadhead at NesamKhola, where we meet our transport forthe 6-to-7-hour drive back to Kathmandu. We will stop off for lunch at a roadsiderestaurant and reach the city in the late afternoon. After checking in at the group hotel,we have some to relax and freshen-up before heading out to one of the Thamelrestaurants for a celebratory dinner.
